What we check first

The ground comes first

Turf is only as good as the ground under it. We check the soil, fill the low spots so water doesn't sit, and match the grass to how much sun the yard gets. Then we prepare the base properly before a roll goes down.

    Sand, clay or sandstone. It decides what grows, what drains and what a wall can sit on.

  2. 02 Sun and shade

    Lawns and plants need the right amount of light. We watch how the sun moves across the yard.

  3. 03 Drainage

    Water that sits drowns roots and pushes walls over. We find where it runs before we build.

  4. 04 Water

    By hand, by tap timer or by a system. We plan for a dry summer, not a wet spring.

What people ask us

Can't you just lay new turf over the old lawn?
Not if you want it to last. Turf rolled onto old grass or hard soil struggles to root and often dies in the first hot spell. We take out the old lawn and weeds, check and improve the soil, and level the base so water runs off before a roll goes down.
Which grass should I get?
It depends on how much sun the lawn gets and how much wear it takes. Soft-leaf buffalo copes with some shade. Kikuyu and couch suit full sun and heavy use. Zoysia means less mowing. We look at your yard and suggest the one that fits.
Can you fix my lawn without replacing it?
Often, yes. A tired lawn can be aerated, which means pushing holes into the soil so air and water reach the roots. Then it's top-dressed with a thin layer of sandy soil and fed. If the ground under it is the problem, we'll tell you.
What do I need to do after the turf goes down?
We do the first watering and leave you care notes. After that, the watering is yours. New turf needs water every day at first, then less often as the roots take hold. Keep off it until it has rooted in.
