01Who we are
The Landscape Brigade is a trading name of The Trade Brigade Pty Ltd (ACN 702 347 313). In this policy, "we", "us" and "our" mean that company. It is responsible for the personal information collected through this website (https://www.thelandscapebrigade.com.au), by phone, by email and on site.
We handle personal information in line with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
02What we collect
We only collect what we need to quote, book and do the job, and to look after you afterwards. That can include:
- your name, phone number and email address
- your suburb and the address of the property
- what you'd like done in the garden and anything you tell us about the job
- the answers you give in our garden check
- photos you choose to upload with a quote request
- access notes, such as gate codes, where the tap and power point are, and whether there are pets
- photos and notes of the garden and property, taken by us at site visits and during the job
- notes from site visits, plans and designs, quotes, invoices and payment records
- how you use this website: pages visited, device and browser type, and your IP address
- how you found us: the website or advert that sent you, campaign tags (known as UTM tags) and ad click IDs (a code an ad network adds to the link you clicked)
We don't ask for sensitive information, such as health details, and we ask you not to send it. If you give us details about someone else, such as a tenant or a property manager, please make sure they're happy for you to do so.
You can ask a general question without giving your name. To quote or book a job, we need your name, a way to contact you and the property address. Uploading photos is optional.
03How we collect it
Mostly from you: when you fill in a form on this website, ring or email us, or talk to us on site. We also collect some details automatically when you use this website (see Cookies and analytics below).
Sometimes we receive your details from someone acting for you, such as a property manager, real estate agent or family member who books a job at your property.
04Why we use it
We use your personal information to:
- answer your enquiry and ring you back
- prepare your quote and book the job
- plan the work, and locate pipes and cables before we dig
- do the job and let the crew get in safely
- send invoices and take payment
- follow up after the job, and handle any question or complaint about the work
- keep records we're required to keep by law
- work out which adverts and pages bring us enquiries, and improve this website
- send you reminders, offers or news, but only if you've agreed to receive them
Messages about a job you've asked for (confirmations, reminders, invoices) are part of the service. Marketing is separate. We only send it with your consent, and you can stop it at any time.
05Who we share it with
Subcontractors who do the work. Some or all of our jobs are carried out by subcontracted crews working on our behalf. We give them what they need to do your job: your name, phone number, the property address, access notes, photos (including any you uploaded), plans and the details of the work. They may only use it to do your job, and must keep it confidential and secure. They may not use it to contact you about anything else.
Service providers. We use outside providers to run the business. They include email and phone services, website hosting and file storage, a job management and customer records system, accounting software and payment processors. They only receive what they need to provide their service to us.
People who help with the job. Where your job needs it, we may share details with an engineer, a surveyor, a licensed plumber or electrician, a service that locates underground pipes and cables, or your council when an approval is needed. We only share what they need for your job.
Our other trading names. The Trade Brigade Pty Ltd also trades as The Trade Brigade and under other names. If you ask us to arrange work we don't do ourselves, such as a deck or a fence, we share the details needed to arrange it. We don't share your details across our trading names for marketing unless you've agreed.
Others where the law requires or allows it, such as a regulator, a court, or an insurer handling a claim. We don't sell your personal information.
06Information stored overseas
Some of our service providers, such as email, file storage and website hosting providers, may store or process information on servers outside Australia, including photos you upload. Where that happens, we take reasonable steps to make sure the provider protects it to a standard consistent with the Australian Privacy Principles.
07Photos of your garden and property
If you upload photos with a quote request, they're stored with our website hosting and file-storage provider. We use them only to quote your job. If you go ahead, the crew doing the work may see them with the rest of your job details, as set out above. Please don't upload photos that show people, car number plates or anything you'd rather we didn't see.
We may also take photos and video of the garden and the work area, before, during and after the job, as part of the job record. If we find something hidden in the ground, such as rock, old concrete or a buried pipe, we photograph it to show you.
We only use photos or video that could identify you or your home in marketing, such as on this website or social media, if you've said yes. You can change your mind later, and we'll stop using it in anything new.
08Keeping it safe
We take reasonable steps to keep personal information secure and to limit who can see it.
We keep records for as long as we need them, including as tax law requires. When we no longer need information, we delete or de-identify it.
If the law requires us to report a data breach, we'll report it as the law requires.
09Seeing and correcting your information
You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Ring or email us. We'll check who you are first, then respond within a reasonable time.
If we can't give you access, or don't agree a correction is needed, we'll tell you why. You can also ask us to delete your details.
10Stopping marketing
Every marketing email or text we send has a way to unsubscribe. You can also ring or email us and ask, and we'll stop as the law requires. You'll still get messages about any job that's under way.
11Cookies and analytics
This website uses cookies and similar tools. Some are needed for the site to work. Others are analytics tools, such as Google Analytics, that tell us how people use the site, such as which pages they visit, so we can improve it. Analytics data is looked at in bulk, not to identify you.
When you arrive from an advert or a tagged link, the site keeps a note of where you came from: the referring page, campaign tags (UTM tags) and any ad click ID. When you send us an enquiry, that note goes with it. It helps us know which advertising is worth paying for. We may send conversion events, such as a form sent or a phone link tapped, back to the ad network, without your name or contact details.
You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. The site will still work, though some parts may not remember your choices.
12Complaints
If you think we've mishandled your personal information, please tell us first. Ring or email us with what happened, and we'll look into it.
If you're not happy with our answer, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC) at oaic.gov.au.
13Contact us
For anything about your personal information, ring 02 0000 0000 or email hello@thelandscapebrigade.com.au. Our job terms are in our terms of service.
14Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. The latest version is always on this page, with the date it was last changed at the top.
